Turkey seasons, regulations and bag limits can vary widely from state to state. To help hunters plan their spring turkey hunts here is a state-by-state guide to the 2024 spring turkey hunting seasons
Northeast
New York: The 2024 regular spring turkey season runs from May 1 to May 31 in most areas of upstate New York. The daily bag limit is two bearded turkeys and hunters can harvest up to three birds during the spring season.
Pennsylvania: The season is open from May 4 to May 18, 2024. Hunters can take one bearded turkey per day and two total for the season.
New Jersey: Hunting periods run from April 22 to May 24, 2024, excluding Sundays. One male turkey is allowed per permit and only one bird can be taken per day.
Maryland: The season runs from April 18 to May 23, 2024. The daily limit is one bearded turkey and the seasonal limit is two.
Vermont: Spring turkey hunting is open from May 1 to 31, 2024. The seasonal limit is two bearded birds.
Southeast
Georgia: The 2024 spring turkey season starts March 23 and runs through May 15. The daily limit is one gobbler and the seasonal limit is three.
Florida: Statewide dates are March 2 through April 7, 2024. The daily and season limit is two turkeys.
Alabama: Season dates are March 25 to May 8, 2024. One gobbler is allowed per day with a four bird total limit.
Mississippi: The season opens March 15 and closes May 1, 2024. Hunters can harvest one adult gobbler per day and three total for the spring season.
South Carolina: Season dates are March 22 to April 30, 2024. Residents can take three gobblers total in the spring, with no more than one per day.
Midwest
Ohio: In the south zone, the spring turkey season runs April 20 to May 19, 2024. In the northeast zone it opens April 27 and closes May 26. Hunters can harvest one bearded turkey.
Michigan: Season dates vary by region, but generally run from late April through early June in 2024. The bag limit is one bearded turkey.
Illinois: Season dates are split into multiple segments from early April through mid May 2024. Hunters can take one bearded turkey per permit, with a maximum of three permits.
