But when their flight gets cancelled, the Hills end up spending the holiday stranded at the airport. After a comedy of errors, airport security mistakes Hank’s prized smoked turkey for a bomb and blows it to smithereens right on the tarmac. I bust up laughing every time at Hank’s reaction to his exploded turkey.

Cooking Competition Mishaps – Spin the Choice

Leave it to resident Texas braggart Hank Hill to turn Thanksgiving dinner into an overly competitive game. In “Spin the Choice,” Hank and his neighbors hold a contest to see who can cook the best turkey using a different technique. But Hookem, Hank’s partner for the contest, sabotages all the other turkeys. In the end, Hank’s traditional smoked turkey wins – but only because the other turkeys were ruined!

Deep Fried Disaster – Patch Boomhauer

What could possibly go wrong with an oversized deep fryer in the alley? When the guys try to deep fry a turkey in “Patch Boomhauer” the hot oil erupts everywhere and destroys Boomhauer’s beloved car. The slow-motion explosion and subsequent burning car careening down the alley truly captures the potential calamity of deep frying turkeys.

Turkey Tussle – Turkey Burns

When Bobby and Peggy have conflicting ideas for preparing the family turkey in “Turkey Burns,” they go head-to-head in an absurd turkey cooking competition judged by Hank, who favors Peggy’s traditional turkey. Bobby’s over-the-top “Turduken” monstrosity vs Peggy’s classic roasted bird makes for one memorable and hilarious turkey battle.

Rival Restaurants Throw Down – Good Hill Hunting

It’s turkey dinner theater when the Belcher family restaurant competes with the Hills’ cousin’s restaurant in “Good Hill Hunting.” Bobby and Joseph’s silly promotional turkey mascot costumes, along with the sabotage and general mayhem, elevate the turkey dinner rivalry to sheer absurdity.

Turkey Assault Vehicle – The Father, the Son and J.C.

Only in Arlen does preparing Thanksgiving dinner require commandeering a tank! When Bobby enters a Turkey Trot race in “The Father, the Son and J.C.,” Hank takes preparing for the event way too seriously. His solution? Modify a military surplus “Turkey Assault Vehicle” to train Bobby, complete with turkey decals. Because nothing says Thanksgiving like an army tank decked out in turkey graphics.

Fowl Fiascos – Various Episodes

From Bobby adopting turkeys as pets to Luanne incorrectly cooking a turkey in the dishwasher, there’s never any shortage of bird-brained turkey tomfoolery in King of the Hill’s Thanksgiving episodes.
